Welcome to Sunbloc LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"). We operate the Sunbloc website, instructional webcourse, proprietary solar design tool, and community forum (collectively, the "Platform"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling any personal data you share with us responsibly and transparently.

 

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and the rights you have regarding that information. By accessing or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

 

1. Information We Collect and How We Collect It

We limit data collection to the minimum necessary to operate and improve the Platform. We collect information through the following means:

     a. We use Wix's built-in site analytics to track aggregate visitor numbers and traffic patterns, including site sessions, page views, and unique visitor counts. This analytics function is provided by Wix.com, Ltd. and may involve the use of cookies or similar tracking technologies placed by Wix on your device. This data is used solely to understand how the Platform is being used and to improve user experience. We do not use this data to personally identify you. You may manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. For more information on how Wix processes data, please refer to the Wix Privacy Policy.

     b. Account Registration and Design Tool When you create an account or save work within our solar design tool, we collect your email address and any login credentials you establish. We do not collect or store payment card information directly. All payment processing is handled through Wix Payments and its integrated payment providers (which may include PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Venmo, Afterpay, Affirm, and Klarna, depending on your selection at checkout). Each provider operates under its own privacy policy and PCI-DSS compliance standards.

     c. Solar Calculator (Optional Email Capture) If you use our free solar calculator, you may be prompted to provide your email address to save or retrieve your results. This is optional. Providing your email in this context constitutes consent to receive communications as described in Section 2.

     d. Community Forum Contributions When you post in our community forum, you may voluntarily share details, photos, schematics, or technical descriptions of your off-grid system. You acknowledge that content posted in community areas is visible to all other registered members of the Platform. You are solely responsible for the content you choose to share publicly. Sunbloc LLC retains a limited, non-exclusive license to display your publicly posted content within the Platform for operational purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information solely to operate and improve the Platform and to communicate with you. Specifically, we use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain access to your account, course materials, and saved design data;

  • Send transactional communications, including account confirmations, purchase receipts, and support responses;

  • Send marketing communications about Sunbloc LLC's own educational products and services, subject to your right to opt out at any time;

  • Analyze aggregate usage patterns to improve Platform functionality and content.

Every marketing communication includes a clear, one-click unsubscribe mechanism. We do not send unsolicited bulk email. Opting out of marketing communications does not affect the delivery of transactional or account-related messages.

 

3. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, trade, or lease your personal data to any third party, data broker, outside advertiser, or affiliate for their independent use.

We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

     a. We engage trusted third-party vendors solely to perform specific operational functions on our behalf, including payment processing via Wix Payments and its integrated checkout providers, and email delivery. These vendors are contractually prohibited from using your data for any purpose beyond the specific service they provide to us. Because multiple payment methods are available at checkout, the specific provider handling your transaction will depend on your selection; we encourage you to review the applicable provider's privacy policy at the time of purchase.

     b. Legal Compliance We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or valid governmental request, or if we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Sunbloc LLC, our users, or the public.

     c. Business Transfers In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all of the Company's assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice in the event such a transfer occurs.

4. Data Security

We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include encrypted data transmission (TLS/HTTPS) and access controls on stored account data.

No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we take your data security seriously, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law, including Arizona Revised Statutes § 18-552.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide you with access to Platform features. If you request deletion of your account, we will remove your personal data from our active systems within a reasonable time, subject to the following:

  • We may retain transaction records, including records of purchases, for a minimum of seven (7) years as required for tax, accounting, and legal compliance purposes;

  • We may retain information required to resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or comply with legal obligations.
     

6. Your Rights and Controls

You have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

  • Opt-Out of Marketing: You may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time via the link in any marketing email or by contacting us directly.

  • Access and Correction: You may request access to or correction of the personal data we hold about you.

  • Account Deletion: You may request full deletion of your account and associated personal data, subject to the retention exceptions in Section 5.

7. Minors

The Platform is intended solely for users who are eighteen (18) years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, we will take prompt steps to delete that information. 8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, particularly as the Platform evolves beyond its current beta phase. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document and, where practicable, provide notice via email or a prominent notice on the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform following the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.

10. Affiliate Relationships and Sponsored Content Disclosure

Sunbloc LLC participates in affiliate marketing programs with third-party brands and retailers, including but not limited to Bluetti, EcoFlow, Jackery, Signature Solar, and Shop Solar Kits. This means that certain links on the Platform — including links within calculator results, course materials, articles, community posts authored by Sunbloc LLC, and product recommendation pages — may be affiliate links. If you click an affiliate link and make a qualifying purchase, Sunbloc LLC may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.

a. Nature of the Relationship
Affiliate commissions help fund the continued development and operation of the Sunbloc Platform, including its free tools, educational content, and live system monitoring infrastructure. The existence of an affiliate relationship does not influence Sunbloc LLC's technical recommendations. Product recommendations are made on the basis of engineering suitability, performance data, and compatibility with the load profiles and design methodology taught through the Platform. Sunbloc LLC will not recommend a product solely because an affiliate commission is available.

b. Identification of Affiliate Links
Affiliate links on the Platform may be identified by a disclosure statement on the relevant page, an asterisk (*) or similar notation adjacent to the link, or a general disclosure statement such as this one. Not all links to third-party products are affiliate links. Where Sunbloc LLC links to an authoritative resource — such as a manufacturer specification sheet, a standards body publication, or a government database — for purely informational purposes, no affiliate relationship exists.

c. Third-Party Pricing and Availability
Sunbloc LLC does not control the pricing, availability, or terms of sale of any third-party product. Prices and product availability displayed through affiliate links are subject to change without notice and are determined solely by the respective retailer or manufacturer. Sunbloc LLC is not a party to any transaction between you and a third-party seller.

d. FTC Compliance
This disclosure is made in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 C.F.R. Part 255) and the FTC's guidance on affiliate marketing disclosures. Sunbloc LLC is committed to transparent disclosure of all material connections to brands and products featured on the Platform.
